Skrimshand

Skrimshand is about a voyage through time and place, informed by the past but made for the future. Every piece is created to commemorate the outsiders who inspire the work; centuries of whalers, tailors, immigrants, and artists. The New Zealand based label creates every garment by hand, with a collective of experienced tailors and artisans. They celebrate the craft of garment making, integrating pre-industrial techniques, traditional tailoring and utilitarian construction processes. Dedicated to the discipline, and art of slow making, the label's garments are incredibly poetic, yet effortlessly wearable.
