Archivio J.M. Ribot
Archivio J.M. Ribot, a project by Karim Fares, is a capsule collection of limited edition garments handmade with ancient fabrics that have been collected in an textile archive throughout the years.
With outstanding technical skills, Archivio‘s garments have been deconstructed, lined and finished, losing their original function to take on a new contemporary appeal, while preserving the history and tactile memory of the textiles.
The assembled garments, buttons and embellishments have been sourced as part of a committed research practice. Each piece is carefully handmade in Italy using slow sewing techniques. Every detail, from the aged buttons to the antique fabrics and sewing threads, is the result of fine research throughout several years. This artisanal approach makes each garment truly unique, and any imperfection is considered a precious element that has been gifted by time.
