Introducing Skrimshand

We’re delighted to welcome a new label to the Scarlet Jones family. Skrimshand is based out of their atelier in New Zealand, where each garment is created by an exceptionally experienced team of tailors and artisans. The label celebrates the craft of garment-making, integrating pre-industrial techniques, traditional tailoring, and utilitarian construction processes. Every Skrimshand piece is hand-worked, produced in very limited editions, and individually identified with a serial number.

Having spent years developing the distinctive shape and fit of their garments, the result is a series of elegant cuts that suit a wide range of body shapes and genders. Fabrics are sourced from some of the finest textile mills and woven from premium natural yarns across France, Japan, Italy, and Aotearoa New Zealand. Each garment is crafted using a combination of highly skilled hand-sewing and precise machine construction, then finished with authentic vintage trimmings, antique silk linings, and carved bone buttons.

Skrimshand is a voyage through time and place, informed by the past yet made for the future. Each piece is created in tribute to the outsiders who inspire their work - drawing on centuries of fisherman, tailors, immigrants, and artists.
